This Privacy Policy explains how U-Save Auto Rental (“we,” “us” or “our”), 84-15 Astoria Blvd., East Elmhurst, NY 11370, collects, uses, shares and protects personal information when you visit usaveny.com, ask us for a quote, make a reservation, rent a vehicle from us, pay us, or receive emails or text messages from us.

Information we collect

Information you give us

Quote requests. When you use our Get A Quote form we collect your first and last name, email address, phone number, pickup and return dates and times, the vehicle you are interested in, and any notes you add.
Vehicle sales inquiries. When you ask about a vehicle for sale we collect your name, email address, phone number, the vehicle, how you plan to pay, and any notes you add.
Reservations and rentals. When you reserve or rent a vehicle we collect the details needed for the rental, such as your name and contact details, pickup and return dates, times and location, the vehicle and options you choose, driver and driver’s license details, and payment details. If you choose to use your own auto insurance, we collect your insurance policy details so they can be verified.
Payments. When you pay online, for example through a payment link we send you, you enter your card details on a page run by our payment processor, Stripe. We do not see or store your full card number.
Communications. When you email, call, text or message us, we keep the messages and the contact details you use.

Information about tolls and tickets

When a toll, parking ticket, camera ticket or similar violation is issued for one of our vehicles while it is rented to you, we receive the notice from the issuing authority. We match it to your rental using our rental records (such as your name, contact details, rental agreement, vehicle and plate, and rental dates) and keep the notice details, payments, receipts and invoices.

Information collected automatically

Our website uses Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager to understand how visitors use the site. These tools use cookies and similar technologies to collect information such as your IP address, device and browser type, the pages you visit, and how you arrived at our site. You can block cookies in your browser settings or use the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.

Public reviews

Our home page shows customer reviews that were publicly posted on Google, including the reviewer’s public name and profile picture. We collect these through a third-party data service. We do not collect information from you when you read them.

How we use your information

To answer quote requests and questions, and to contact you about them.
To make, change and cancel reservations, and to prepare and manage your rental.
To verify your insurance when you choose to use your own coverage.
To take payments, issue receipts and invoices, and collect amounts owed.
To handle tolls, parking tickets and other violations from your rental, including paying them to the issuing authority, billing you, and sending you the ticket details, receipts and payment links by email or, if you asked for it, by text message.
To run, secure and improve our website and services.
To meet legal, tax and accounting obligations and to protect our rights and vehicles.

Text messages (SMS)

If you give us your mobile number and ask us to send you a payment link or ticket details by text, we will send those messages to that number through our messaging provider, Twilio. These messages relate to parking tickets, tolls and similar charges you asked us about. We use your mobile number only to send you the messages you requested and to respond to you. You can reply STOP at any time to stop receiving text messages, or HELP for help. Message and data rates may apply. See our SMS Terms for details.

No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties. This does not prevent us from using service providers, such as Twilio, that send messages on our behalf.

How we share your information

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only as described here:

Service providers who work for us, such as our website and email hosting providers, our rental reservation and management system (TSD), our insurance verification service (Axle), our payment processor (Stripe), our text messaging provider (Twilio), and Google for website analytics. They may use the information only to provide their services to us.
Toll and ticket authorities and processors, to pay, transfer or dispute tolls, tickets and violations from your rental, as described in our Rental Terms & Conditions.
Law enforcement and others when required, to comply with the law, legal process or a government request, or to protect our rights, property, vehicles or the safety of others.
A buyer or successor, if our business is sold or transferred, subject to this policy.

How long we keep information

We keep personal information only as long as we need it for the purposes above. Rental, payment, toll and ticket records are kept for as long as needed to complete billing and collections and to meet our legal, tax and accounting obligations. Quote requests and inquiries are kept while they are useful for responding to you and serving you. When we no longer need information, we delete it or keep it in a form that does not identify you.

How we protect information

We use reasonable administrative, technical and physical safeguards, such as encrypted (HTTPS) connections and access limited to staff who need it. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Your choices and requests

You can ask to see, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you by emailing us at [email protected]. We may need to confirm your identity first. Some records, such as rental agreements and payment records, may need to be kept to meet legal obligations or to complete billing.
You can stop text messages at any time by replying STOP.
You can manage cookies through your browser settings.

Other websites

Our site links to other services, such as Google Maps, WhatsApp and Instagram. Those services have their own privacy policies, and this policy does not cover them.

Children

Our website and services are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The effective date at the top shows when it was last changed. Changes take effect when posted on this page.
